If you visited Google.com today, you should have seen this image, which celebrates the 2012 Olympics. When the company alters its logo like this, it’s called a Google Doodle.
Most doodles are simple images that incorporate the Google logo into some sort of tribute to a person, place or thing. Some are animated, like the ‘hug’ doodle that appeared on Mother’s Day. Other doodles are interactive, like the Turing Machine displayed on Alan Turing’s 100th birthday, or the working synthesizer used to mark Robert Moog’s 78th birthday.
